Unusually decorated Riga Porcelain Factory bowl. Hallmark refers to the production period within 1947-1970. Item is marked as second quality grade, therefore the hallmark is in blue and it should refer to some production defects.
Nevertheless, decorator took a freedom responsibility to upgrade the item significantly, it was not a good tone to use gold and overdecorate the product in those depressing times of post dictatorship regime (Stalin ruled here since the second occupation of Latvia in 1939 till his death in 1952).
